| Culture: Egyptian. Date: 6th - 1st Century B.C. (late period). Material: Bronze, with silver gilding. Condition: Intact, with green patina and encrustations. Provenance: Ex: Early private collection from the 1960's. Measurements: 3.25 inches long (8 cms), 2.9 inches high (7.3 cms). Standing on an oval base, the tail feathers highlighted and the eyes are drilled, the neck, head, tail and feet are silver-gilt. An exceptional artefact that is extremely rare. A related goose recently sold at Bonham's sale for $134,700. (larger in wood and bronze, 11 inches or 28 cms).
