A large Sumida vase, finely decorated with irises and cattails, on a ground of transmutation glazes (Shekwan). The base has the impressed mark of Ishiguro Koko. The vase dates from the late Meiji - Taisho period (1900-1925) and is approximately 12 ½” (32 cm) high by 12” (30 cm) wide. Kato Monuemon VI (1853-1911) became head of his family porcelain studio in 1870, the workshop became well known for its blue & white wares. The base has a apocryphal six character seal mark of the Qing Dynasty Qianlong Emperor. In my opinion, the box dates to the Guangxu reign (1875-1908) or Republic period (1916-1949). A Chinese porcelain ovoid jar/vase with a domed lid, covered in a monochrome powder blue glaze. The interior & base are glazed white and marked with two underglaze blue concentric circles. A fine pair of Chinese porcelain vases, covered in a finely crackled yellow glaze, with strap handles. The interiors and bases covered in a white glaze with a slight bluish tint. The bases have underglaze blue six character seal marks of the Yongzheng reign of the Qing Dynasty. The paste on the exposed foot is very fine, compact and smooth. A finely crafted Japanese gilt bronze temple/shrine door lock, or possibly for a relic box or gate. The lock is engraved with two Aoi, the crest of the Tokugawa Shogunate & family, who ruled Japan during the Edo period (1603-1867). There is also engraved scrolling foliage, diaper patterns and waves. The lock comes with the original key and a signed box, not sure if the box is original. Antique Chinese Porcelain Hu-shaped vase covered in a copper red glaze (Sang de Boeuf, Oxblood, Langyao, Flambe, Jun Red).
