Chinese Porcelain Copper Red Hu Vase Langyao/Flambe/Jun
Antique Chinese Porcelain Hu-shaped vase covered in a copper red glaze (Sang de Boeuf, Oxblood, Langyao, Flambe, Jun Red). The base inside the foot rim is coated in a light brown / café au lait glaze. The vase dates to the 19th century, probably from Jiaqing reign (1796-1820) of the Qing Dynasty. The condition is good, with a small chip on the upper rim and a few shallow chips to the foot rim (see photos). The red glaze has been ground where it ran during firing around the foot rim. Approximately 6 ¾” (17.2cm) high and 5” (13cm) across. I included a AA battery in the photo of the base to demonstrate the size of the foot rim. The inside of the vase is glazed and some of the copper red has dripped inside the vase. ………………………………................................................................................................................................................
