This is a superb Roman Toga Brooch based on an intricate Lily design. It has wonderful classic lines and was found near Jerusalem. The importance of the Lily, to the Jewish people should not be understated. The Lily: The Lily was regarded as the choicest among the flowers. It graced the tow main pillars which stood at the entrance to the sanctuary of the Temple in Jerusalem. This antiquity is intact and in fantastic condition, very rare.
Ancient Greek Roman Bronze Signet Ring Jerusalem 100AD - Please check the complete photo set for this ring. It was found near Jerusalem in Israel and has a nice set of Ancient Greek letters engraved on the very heavy bezel It is a gorgeous example and dates to the period of Roman occupation of Jerusalem or before. Intact and very robust. I'd appreciate any assistance from Scholars of the Ancient Greek language.
Superb Roman Bronze Oil Lamp 1st Century AD.
This is a very rare, Bronze Roman Oil Lamp found near Jerusalem and probably owned by a member of the 10th Legion. It is styled as a hybrid between the classic North African Roman style and the Jewish Herodian style. It is very solid and heavy, a hallmark of military hardware. Size: 100mm x 63mm x 23mm Condition: Superb, intact and unrestored. A choice artefact of the Roman occupation of Jerusalem.
