| Egyptian White Steatite Scarab Seal 2000 - 1800 BC The scarab is of typical Egyptian style, a simplified beetle with two horizontal incisions representing the legs, pierced lengthwise for suspension. The base of the scarab is an intricately carved representation of an unknown figure. The carving is clear, but I am unsure of it's meaning. I cannot find a similar pattern in either of my detailed references nor on the internet. References, "A catalogue of Scarabs (474) belonging to George Fraser(1900)" & "The Scarab a reflection of Ancient Egypt" The Israel Museum, Jerusalem. The scarab is intact and in fantastic condition Size: 15mm x 10mm | |||||||||||
