The body is naked, his head thrown forward, hands open and the feet firmly resting on the base expresses a contained energy and a feline power. These masks represent men of noble lineage and represent power and authority, the crests adorned with animal symbol of fertility. The Bamun are an ethnic group of Cameroon.
Bamun religion is based upon the ancestral spirits that were incorporated in the ancestors. Older men each lineage had possession of the relics of the ancestors, the ceremonies to appease these spirits. There is also respect for women, but the details are less well documented.

Rattle. Ethnic group Songye, R. D. Congo, 20 AD. It carved wood and seeds. Dimensions: 28 x 4 cm. Rattle consists of several circular bodies and a handle carved into a female bust, with very geometric features. The Songye, settled in the Democratic Republic of Congo, used in their rituals a variety of fetishes and amulets. They also have great figures related to the rituals of the full moon. These figures are adorned with a horn or feathers, symbols that alluding to its magical character.

The Masa arms, Cameroon. Early twentieth century A.D. Wicker and wood. Size: 90 x 51 cm.
Coat with front fastening woven wicker and carved wood back, designed to cover much of the body, or the warrior in full, if it is bent. The shield was topped with a bow front top, while the base is straight in order to be easily supported on the floor. It has two notches on the sides at half height, to increase its strength.
