Antique Japanese carved granite ishi usu, a large bowl used for grinding rice into flour. This substantial urn dates to the late Edo-Period (c.1850), and is in excellent condition, with minimal loss and extensive buildup of moss and lichen. Perfect for a garden accent. Ishi usu measures roughly 12 inches in diameter at the base, 19.5 inches diameter at the rim, and 9.5 inches tall. It weighs about 141 pounds.

Antique Japanese Bizen sake tokuri, or rice wine decanter with wood stopper, Meiji-Period (c.1900). Bizen ceramics, or yaki, is unglazed, and has a distinctive bronzed patina that results naturally from floating ash in the wood-fired kilns, which have operated continuously for more than four centuries. Japanese earthenware bowl in the Tokoname style, dating to the Taisho-period (c.1910). The matte bronze-hued outer finish is the natural result of drifting ash in the wood fired kiln. This distinctive feature, as well as the white-brown inner glaze, are indicative of the Tokoname style. A crab figurine is perched near the rim. Fine antique Japanese earthenware bowl, in the style of Inuyama-yaki. Late Edo to early Meiji-Period (c.1860), very good condition. Crackled off-white glaze accented with a green and yellow floral motif around the rim and depictions of seven highly detailed figures around the outside, possibly the Seven Lucky God of Japan, or Hichifukujin. Beautiful two section antique Japanese isho dansu clothing chest. Fashioned entirely from prized Kiri, or Paulownia wood. Tansu has been thoroughly cleaned and waxed to a warm honey-gold patina.
