Stunning antique Japanese pipe and pipe holder set, dating to the early Meiji-Period (c.1870). This exceptional set features a pipe, or kiseru, crafted from lacquered bamboo with an engraved silver tip and bowl. The pipe holder, or kiseru-zutsu, is fashioned from an elaborately carved deer antler. The carvings are in very good condition, with exquisite detail and patina. Beautiful antique Japanese mizuya dansu, or kitchen tansu chest. This tansu is crafted from hinoki and sugi, subspecies of cypress indigenous to Japan. The drawers and doors are accented with panels of handsomely figured keyaki, a prized Japanese hardwood. The tansu dates to the Meiji-Period (c.1900), and is in good to excellent condition. Antique Japanese yogi, a large quilted kimono designed for use as a sleeping garment. Meiji-Period (c.1900); 56 inches tall from hem to collar, 52 inches wide from cuff to cuff.
