Vintage Japanese porcelain hibachi, traditional coal burning hand or room warmer. This item dates to the mid twentieth century and is in excellent condition. It measures 12 inches tall and 18 inches in diameter at the widest point, and weighs roughly 30 pounds. The base measures 11 inches in diameter, and the opening at the rim is 12" diameter. The design features a gently curved pattern and beautiful midnight blue glaze. Excellent for a garden accent or planter.

Vintage Japanese Shinto shrine, known as a Kamidana. This item is constructed of fine Sugi (Japanese Cedar), and is in excellent condition. It dates to the mid Showa-Period (c.1950), and comes complete with the traditional miniature sudare (bamboo shades), and tatami reed mats in the three cubby spaces. Vintage set of Japanese ceramic or earthenware tea bowls, known as Chawan. This set includes five dainty teacups, another small cup with a indented rim for pouring, and a small service pot with handle and spout. Single section antique Geta-Bako, a tansu chest commonly placed in the foyer, or genkan, of traditional Japanese homes for storage of shoes. It is the custom in Japan, where grass reed tatami mats often cover the floors, to remove one's shoes upon entering a home. Outside shoes are placed in the tansu during the visit, and slippers or sandals are kept there for indoor use.
