Antique Japanese Bizen sake tokuri, or rice wine decanter with wood stopper, Meiji-Period (c.1900). Bizen ceramics, or yaki, is unglazed, and has a distinctive bronzed patina that results naturally from floating ash in the wood-fired kilns, which have operated continuously for more than four centuries. Tokuri measures approximately 9.5 inches tall by 6.5 inches in diameter at the widest point. Excellent original condition, with beautiful patina.
