Contemporary Japanese earthenware service set, handmade in the Shino prefecture and signed by the artist. This full set is perfect for sushi or sashimi service, and would add an elegant and traditional touch to presentation. There are eleven pieces to the set: A large service platter (11" by 7"), four mid-sized plates (5 1/2" by 5"), four small saucers (4" by 3 1/2"), and two chawan, or teacups (4" diameter by 3" tall). The wares feature the distinctive off white glaze typical of Shino yaki, accented by free form patterns in green, brown, and grayish blue. The artist's signature is stamped on the bottom of the large platter.
