A spectacular, large, ancient terracotta figure from the Veracruz culture, dating to approximately 600 A.D.
Depicting a warrior/diety with prominent breasts and clavicles, finely detailed facial features, open mouth revealing teeth, nasal piercing resting on top lip, bulging eyes and circular ear spools. The highly stylised figure is adorned with a pendant necklace and spiked headdress. Areas of original black pigment (possibly bitumen) are still clearly visible.
