The Art and Orchid Gallery's German cobalt glazed vase has a modified brazer style. Three body-length handles run down into an elaborate tripod ring base with an inverted finial under the vase. The antique has a true Rudolstadt blue underglaze mark used between 1882-1918 by the company "New York-Rudolstadt Pottery", co-owners.[59A, 7AA, 5B, 49C] The Company can be traced to 1720 Thuringia, Germany starting as faience factory. This rare metalwork of copper encrusted ceramic vase was probably made at the Clewell Studios in Canton, Ohio at the beginning of the 20th Century. The vessel is embossed with multiple early Christian symbols. Charles W.
