This signed and dated 1989 troika series box is well painted entirely by hand. It is Russian lacquer art box numbered: 74995.[19A] The three running horses pull a decorated sleigh, a babushka covered woman and an enthusiastic standing driver for an exciting night ride. Clouds of snow powder glitter in gold. The horse manes are particularly striking in streamers of red and gold. Possibly the school name in Russian bottom right of the swirl and dot top border.
