Made in Mali near the Tenere Desert, but purportedly found in the Faium Valley of Egypt, dating to about 7000 to 5000 BC. Knapped stone implement. Egypt has a very rich Palaeolithic past, dating from the Lower Palaeolithic. The Faiyum has a fundamentally important role to play in developing an understanding of Egyptian prehistory. Rare example! From ancient Greece, ca. 100 BC - 100 AD. Terracotta seated figure of Attis, consort of Cybele in Phrygian and Greek mythology. His priests were eunuchs, the Galli, as explained by origin myths pertaining to Attis and castration.
