"Huge" just doesn't quite cover this one! A quite exceptional and massive ancient Greek Campanian Oinochoe, Southern Italy, ca 340 BCE. Black-glazed trefoil terracotta jug with the surface now wonderfully iridescent. Deep trefoil spout, small raised foot and twin lugs at the base of the strap handle. Cast bronze chariot fitting of the Greek mythological figure of Perseus holding the recently-slain head of the Gorgon Medusa in his left hand while he holds his sword upright in his right hand.
