Pre-Columbian, Colima, West Mexico, Ca 200 BCE - 200 CE. Attractive pottery storage jar in medium size with fluted edges, small neck and flared rim. Around the neck are an interesting set of nearly circular manganese deposits looking much like a series of repeating eyes. 7-1/4"D x 5-1/4"H. Small circular probe on base and oblong probe exit hole on top, else quite excellent.

Of tapering pear shape, raised on a tall foot (reminiscent of the archaic Hu form); has beautiful floral and scrolled design throughout border over white and turquoise backgrounds.
