Beautiful in its simplcity... from the southern Mediterranean region, ca. 400 BC. Alabaster vessel with globular body, short cylindrical neck and a flat over-hanging rim. 3-1/4"H x 4"D, appears intact.
From the Bactrian culture of Afghanistan / Pakistan, ca. 1000 BC. Carved from banded alabaster in circular, slightly conical form with two small lug handles and small rim. 7"W to handles x 5"H, intact and in excellent condition showing great patina (one side shows heavier encrustration from where it was laying down - these are not cracks/repairs). ...click for details
Choice pair of pottery oil lamps, found in Israel, dating to the late Roman, early byzantine Period - Ca 400 to 600 AD. Each mold-made with large central opening, decorated tops and zoomorphic thumb-rests. Measuring 4-1/8" L, each is intact and choice.
