Northwestern India, Hindu Shahi period, ca. 7th century AD. Carved marble fragment features three heads - one facing forward, one facing right, once facing left - all with full facial detail; forward facing head has diamond-shaped pendant incised into forehead. Rare! Gupta Period, India, Ca 500 CE. Pottery rattle in the form of a rotund seated figure - possibly early representation of Buddha, left hand to his knee, right near hi belly, wearing large necklace. Hollow-molded with rattling stones inside. 11cm high. Intact and excellent. Bolivia / Argentina, 18th century CE. Very fine single spur made of hand-forged iron with silver inlays and pins. From India, ca. 14th century AD. Heavy cast bronze bell has a bulbous body with flaring band, made to hang around the neck of the elephant. Inside bell is a loose pellet which acts as a rattle when the elephant moves. These types of large bells can be seen hanging from the necks of elephants.
