Stunning and large! Ancient Pre-Columbian Peruvian Coca Bag, Inca style, ca. 1400 A.D. Woven fabric satchel used for storing/carrying coca leaves (to help combat altitude sickness and other maladies). Vibrant geometric and zoomorphic detailing, with embroidered side border and fringed ends. Professionally cleaned and mounted on a modern tan cotton/stretch fabric (which covers a wooden frame). Bag itself measures 18-1/2"L x 11-1/2"W, on fabric covered frame 20-1/2"L x 13-3/4"W, intact/excellent condition. Exceptional detailing...
