A superb example! Pre-Columbian Moche Warrior, Moche phase III / IV ca. 450 - 700 A.D. Hollow, finely tempered buff earthenware stirrup vessel mold of a warrior; open on bottom depicting a crouching decapitator with small trophy heads to each side of his coned headdress; he holds a mace in his right hand, another small trophy head in his left, and a small shield on his left wrist. 9-1/4"H x 6"W, intact with fine preservation of surface detail. Several small, stabilized stress cracks and two small depressions on reverse where stirrup portion is attached at the end of the production cycle. Extremely rare to find!
