This is Mongolian carved wooden sculpture of a Garuda or Khangard dating to the 19th century. Wonderful use of the wood to make an animated sculpture. The front has considerable wear while the back shows what was originally elaborate painting. There are round holes in the hands which would have had a staff inserted. Measures just over 12 inches or 31cm.

This is a well drawn page from a Mongolian medical manuscript. It depicts a guardian, a demon and two female figures, one carrying a conch and the other a dharma wheel. Very well drawn. Currently in a paper mat which separates the images and hides some of the water damage. Measures 9 x 3 inches, (23 x 8cm).

This is an interesting and unusual inkstone dating from the 19th century. The face has a nicely carved dragon while the reverse side is carved in a mold pattern. Measures 7 x 4 5/8 x 1 1/4 inches (17.8 x 12 x 3.2cm)

This is an unusual group of 12 jade buttons dating to the 19th century. The group includes two larger buttons, A butterfly and a lotus and then smaller buttons carved as bats. Of the ten smaller buttons, eight are oriented in one direction while two are oriented in the other. Butterfly measures 1 3/4 inches across (4.5cm), Lotus measures 2 inches across (5cm), and the buttons are approximately 1 1/4 inches across (3.2cm). A well sculpted gilt repousse copper Tibetan plaque of Jambhala. Jambhala is the wealth giving manifestation of Avalokiteshvara. Excellent condition mounted in a gilt wood frame. It is attached to the frame with four small brass screws which go through existing holes. Frame has some rubbing and minor chipping. Measures 6.5 inches long, (16.5cm) and 3.375 inches high (8.5cm). In the frame it is 9.75 x 7.5 inches, (24.5 x 19cm).

This is a very nice simple bamboo brushpot with good age. I estimate 100 - 150 years. Measures 5.7 inches high (14.5cm) and 5 inches in diameter (12.8cm). It has the standard plug in the bottom.
