A very nice pair of black and white Staffordshire spaniels, size number "1". Very good overall condition, with wear to the gilt chains and some flaking of paint on the eyes. Minor firing crack on one. 12" high, c. 19th century. Harding 174-175

An interesting blue and white transferware design plate attributed to Herculaneum Pottery, Lancashire (1793-1841). Although unmarked, this pattern has been attributed to Herculaneum by several authors. Overall good condition with minor knife scratches, faint "X" shaped hairline crack on the back that does not appear to go through to the other side, and a very minor back edge chip. Ochre edge. 9.5" diameter, c. 1800.
