An interesting Staffordshire figurine of a dog, possibly a Mastiff. A potential winner for an ugly dog contest with a face that only a real dog lover could love. Overall good condition with minor paint loss and small chips on underside of base. 4.5" high, circa 1840.

A very nice blue and white transferware platter in the "Wild Rose" pattern. This pattern gets its name from the border of wild roses. A very popular pattern in the 19th century made at several different potteries, this platter is unmarked. Overall good condition with minor knife scratches and five small back chips that do not show from the front. 16" by 12.5" c. 1840.

A very nice blue and white transferware platter in the "Wild Rose" pattern. This pattern gets its name from the border of wild roses. A very popular pattern in the 19th century made at several different potteries, this platter is unmarked. Overall good condition with minor knife scratches, a small glaze flake and a small underglaze chip. Textured bottom. 16" by 12.5" c. 1840.

An unusual Copeland Spode Jasperware pitcher depicting various golfing scenes. Dark Cobalt blue background. Printed "Copeland late Spode" mark, both printed and impressed registration number 345322. Excellent condition, 5.5" high, circa 1895.

Set of ten Coalport Soup Bowls. A tea service with this pattern appears in Geoffrey Godden's "An Illustrated Encyclopedia of British Pottery and Porcelain" on page 96, plate #164. Like the tea service, the soup bowls are unmarked, but attributable to Coalport by the pattern. Godden gives the pattern number as 629. The soup bowls are in overall good condition for age, with some wear to the gilt and overglaze color. There are no chips or cracks. 10.25" diameter. Circa 1810-1815. ...click for details

Sold 

A large brown and white Transferware "Colandine" pattern platter. Printed Royal Arms mark with "F. Primavesi & Sons Cardiff, Swansea, & Newport". Primavesi was a major retailer in Wales during the second half of the 19th century. I believe much of their pottery was made by Swansea pottery for them. Overall crazing, and underglaze rim chip, other wise very good condition. 18" wide, 14.5" high, circa 1860.

Set of ten blue and white Transferware Child's plates in a light blue chinoisiere pattern by Podmore Walker & Co., Staffordshire 1834-1859. Impressed mark "Stoneware PW&Co". One with firing flaw, two with minor chips, two with hairline cracks, five in excellent condition. 4.25" diameter, circa 1845.

Pair of child's blue and white Transferware "Curling Palm" pattern plates, unmarked. This pattern was produced by Job Ridgway, Staffordshire 1802-1808. Pattern is named for the prominent palm tree above the Pagoda in this nice chinoisiere scene. Overall crazing, and minor edge flaking of glaze, otherwise very good condition. 4.625" diameter, circa 1805.
