Burmese offering lacquer vessel consists of a sequence of stacking elements, from largest at the base to smallest at the top. The five parts of this vessel are made of bamboo coated with black and red lacquer.
Such vessels were used for offerings cooked food to the monks. The deep bowl of the vessel held the cooked rice, the upper trays for food, and the uppermost part of the vessel reverses to form a cup.
