Swatow ware, the widely known Chinese ceramics produced for export to European market through the Dutch trade in the 16th and 17th century and became very popular in Europe. It is interesting that the glaze usually covers down to the foot, forming a crust of sand on the entire foot and parts of the base and side, which becomes a typical characteristic of the Swatow ware. It is believed that Swatow ware was made in the Jiangxi, Fujian, Yunnan and Guangdong provinces. Age: Chinese, Ming dynasty, circa 16th-17th century.
