A Model of Tsao Kuo Chiu of the Chinese Eight Immortals

Tsao Kuo Chiu, who is a patron saint of theatrical profession, is one of the Eight Immortals.

Here he is depicted as a porcelain model of a man, standing straight on an octagonal base, wearing a court head-dress and official dragon robe, holding his emblems of a pair of castanets in his left hand. The bottom with a stamped mark of the potter's name.

Age: Chinese, Qing Dynasty, circa 19th century.
Measurement: Height 30 C.M. / Width 9.2 C.M.
Condition: With removable hands. The left hand is repaired. The ring finger of his right hand is broken at the tip. Please refer to the enlargement photos for more details.
