Shipwreck Qing Round Blue and White Covered Boxes

Covered boxes in the category of Minyao or peoples wares pieces which were commercially produced for export. Each box is nicely decorated with flower motifs. It was found from a shipwreck in the South China Sea. The similar boxes were found from a shipwreck called "The Ca Mau Shipwreck" in the South China Sea, which was later dated 1723-1735. Please see "The Ca Mau Shipwreck 1723-1735", page 165, figure 186 for a similar box.

Age: Chinese, Qing dynasty, circa 18th century ( at least 1723-1735)
Measurement (approximately): Diameter 10.2 C.M. / Height 5.1 C.M.
Condition : With some minor damage and glaze degradation due to sea water. The body and cover are stuck together by corals and sea elements.
