Han Dynasty, Chinese Pottery Hu Jar with Green Glaze

Chinese pottery green glazed Hu jar decorated with incised lines and a pair of monster masks on the shoulder. Lead glaze with copper is the main colorant used in Han period to produce green glaze. Greenware became popular during the Eastern Han period.

Age: China, Han Dynasty, circa 206 B.C. - A.D. 220
Measurement: Height 32 C.M. / Width 26 C.M.
Condition: Well-preserved old burial condition overall with some amount of soil adherings (some abrasions and wearings on the piece due to the long burial time underground). Please refer to the enlargement photos for more details.
