A well carved Tongan or Fijian pounder carved overall with detailed geometric motifs with the later addition of a European name.This club retains a good original patination and signs of considerable use.I should think it dates from the early to mid 19th.c.Length 24.25ins(61.5cm.)It is in good condition with only the expected slight cracking and encrustation through use.

A jade greenstone tiki the contorted body of stylized human form. The eyes have been inlaid with red ceiling wax at a later date.There is an area of wear around the feet and an old chip on the right hand side of the face.This piece is from a collection in Jersey and has two old labels on the reverse one referring to 'the journal of anthropology vol.xlv1. my feeling is that this tiki is circa 1700 or earlier.Length 4.25ins.(10.7cm.)

A good Easter Island figure of an emmaciated male of typical crouched form ,later mounted on a cylindrical base. The figure made of tolomiro wood.The eyes are inlaid with bone. The figure is in perfect condition apart from one chip on the right foot.Height of figure(without stand)38 cm(15 ins.)Height of figure (with stand)58 cm.(22.8ins.)Probably mid to late 19th.c.

A good asmat shield,early to mid 20th.c. with carved linear,abstract decoration of symmetrical form. There may have originally been a figure surmounting the shield. The original fibre attachments to the edge of the piece remain and it is in very good condition apart from minor chips around the edges. Height 52.5 ins.(133cm.)

A well patinated Easter Island wood figure of typical form but carved in a rugged manner.It is possible that this piece is unfinished or of early date as the form of carving is closer to the more rudimentary carving of Tonga.Height 23 ins.(58cm.)excluding stand.
