DESCRIPTION:
This type of rare and unusual plain stem wine glass is illustrated in L M Bickerton’s book, Eighteenth Century English Drinking Glasses page 147 fig. 380. The glass is impressively tall and has a waisted bell bowl with solid base above a plain tapered stem with triple annulated collars top and bottom all standing on a domed and folded foot. DIMENSIONS: Height – Just under 7 inches; Bowl diameter – 2⅞ inches; Foot diameter – 3 inches. CONDITION: In excellent condition with a small, unobtrusive seed in the bowl. No signs of restoration. |
