DESCRIPTION:
An unusually well proportioned early 18th century baluster wine glass with a solid based bell bowl above a baluster stem made up of a medial triple annulated knop and a basal knop standing on a conical folded foot. A lovely solid glass made from gloriously oily looking and feeling lead metal. DIMENSIONS: Height – 6¼ inches; Bowl diameter – 2⅞ inches; Foot diameter – 3⅛ inches. CONDITION: Apart from two insignificant, shallow scratches (see photo 3 at 3 o'clock) this glass is in excellent condition with fairly light wear to the bearing surface of the foot. |
