Here are three pieces of American coin silver flatware. The large spoon, approximately 8-3/4 inches in length bears the hallmark of A. B. Vancott, as well as English-style pseudo-hallmarks. The shell-bowled mustard spoon, circa 1850, has a bright-cut crest and is hallmarked “B. M. Chamberlain & Son Coin.” The graceful little teaspoon is hallmarked “AGF” for Abraham Gerritze Forbes, who worked in New York City from around 1769 to 1795. Lovely condition.

Made by California’s eminent Nineteenth Century silversmiths, Koehler & Ritter, in their Alameda pattern is this elegant coin silver fish slice. The fine Aesthetic Movement details of the handle’s floral sprays are magnificently echoed by the blade’s bright-cut grasses and flowers on a finely grained vermeil ground. The engraved initial “W” is nicely in the style of the piece. San Francisco, circa 1870. Superb condition, approximately 11-1/4 inches in length and 2-3/4 inches in width.
