Elaborately repousseed chased and engraved, this charming and practical hand warmer once lay concealed in the long sleeves of a rich Chinese, a comfort in the long, cold months. An excellent example of a ancient Chinese burial bronze in the form of a lid for a food container. (The vessels were generally of much lighter construction and do not survive the centuries of burial.
