This is nice decorated Satsuma earthenware tapered ovoid vase with two well detailed dragons in raised enamels. It is artist signed on the body of the vase and measures 5" x 3.75". It dates about 1890 and other than some gilt wear on the rim, it is in excellent condition.
This is a nicely enameled Japanese Satsuma earthenware brush pot with three scenes. The reserves are decorated with the 1000 butterfly pattern, showing excellent detail. The condition is excellent, with little to no wear and no chips or lines. It measures 4" x 4 1/3" and dates about 1880 - 1890.
The detail of the artwork on this Satsuma vase is excellent and the open space contrasts it beautifully. This vase is much larger than the classic processional vases done by Kinkozan. It measures 12" x 4.5" and dates about 1910.
This vase is decorated with a classic Kinkozan motif of samurai, geishas and children in heavily encrusted gold and enamel. It measures 7" x 4.75" and is in excellent condition. It dates about 1900.
The artwork is quite fine on this vase and the gold is applied in classic Meizan style, as are the geometric reserves. However, it is signed Juzan. The condition is perfect with no visible signs of wear and no restorations. The dimensions are 6.5" x 3.5" and it dates near 1880.
The detail on this dish is extraordinary and quite beautiful. It is signed on the reverse side with a tiny red seal, which we believe to be Gyrokushu and the minute detail is indicative of his work. The condition is excellent, with almost no wear. There is some specular reflection in the images that might appear as wear and should be ignored. The dish measures 4" x 1 3/8" and dates about 1880 - 1890.
This globular earthenware vase depicts the 7 gods of good fortune, enameled in fine detail. It is very atypical of work done by Kinkozan, but interesting nonetheless. The condition is excellent and it dates about 1900 - 1920. The dimensions are 9.5" x 8.5".
The interior of this bowl is decorated with a nicely detailed processional scene. The interior sides show overlapping floral and fan shaped vignettes. The exterior is decorated with several representations of Japan in the 19th century. The condition is very good, with no damages or restorations. It measures 6 1/8" x 2 5/8" and dates about 1890.
The butterflies on this bowl are finely executed in a rich palette. The side walls taper slightly inward, which when coupled with the scalloped rim, give the appearance of a lotus flower. There is one area showing a small amount of wear to the gold application, but otherwise the condition is excellent. It is fairly large, measuring 4.5" x 10" and dates about 1910 - 1920.
This is a nice example of Ryozan's work with an intense 1000 butterfly completely covering the interior of the bowl. The exterior shows four scenes depicting various daily activities of the 19th century. The condition is excellent with little to wear. It measures 5" x 2" and dates about 1890. The underside has a large Yasuda studio mark and a Ryozan signature.
