This is a 19th century Chinese brush holder made of Huanghuali. It is a rare piece because of its size. It measures 8 ½ inches in diameter and 8 inches tall. It is in excellent condition.

This well cast Meiji period Japanese bronze vase is 10 ¾ inches tall and 4 inches in diameter at its widest. It depicts a wild goose flying away from the moon. The moon is silver inlaid and the goose is silver overlay on top of the bronze body. The goose eye and feet is gold. There is a maker¡¯s seal on the bottom, it reads ¡°Kyoto, made by Kuroda¡±. There are a few scratches on the body and lighter color around the moon due to cleaning.

This rare and unusual carved bamboo brush holder is dated to the Qing dynasty, Guang Xu 7th year (1881). The bamboo cylinder is carved to represent strung bamboo slips. This was the earlier form of books in China before the invention of paper. The artist (writer) Jie Shan wrote and carved the poem during early spring, 1881 in Tong-Shi Hall. This late 19th century Chinese bamboo brush holder (Bitong) is 12 inches tall and 5 inches at its widest part. It was carved in high relief and lacquered. The top part of the cylinder presents the story of the seven immortals of the bamboo grove. Four immortals are looking at a scroll picture; two are playing ¡°Go¡± and one is watching them play. This is a rare late Ming dynasty (1368~1615) carved bamboo statue. It depicts a bearded warrior on a horse. The rider¡¯s head is raised up, eyes wide open; his left arm is gently holding the bridle. 19th century Chinese jade banana leaf, 6 ¾ inches long and 2 ½ inches at widest spot on a carved/fitted wood stand. There is a loose ring on the stalk. It is carved so thin it is almost translucent. There is a small chip on the stand. Excellent condition.

Middle 19th century Chinese white jade Pi. The piece is 2 ¼ inches in diameter and 5/16 inches thick. A pinhead (Gu) design is on one side; the other side has a five scroll design. The carved wood stand has six round vase shaped corners. There is a tiny chip on the rim of the jade and a small piece is missing on the curve of the stand. It is in good condition.
