This early 20th century carved jade brush rest is 8 ¾” long, 3” high and 1 ¼” thick. It depicts three playful PiXiu facing each other. PiXiu are Chinese mythical creatures who are considered to be very powerful protectors in the practice of Feng Shui. This early 20th century large stone carving of a water buffalo cow and calf is 6 ½” high, 7 ¾” long and 4 ½” wide. It depicts a cow eating grass but feeding her youngster at the same time. The bodies of both calf and cow are finely incised to represent hair. It is in excellent condition.

These rare early 19th century ceramic bowls are 2 ½” high and 6” in diameter. They depict four mythical sea creatures resting on rocks surrounded by ocean waves. The background and inside are turquoise blue. There are red “Dao Guang” (1821~1850) marks on the bottoms. Some gold edging has rubbed off from the ribbed rims. Aside from this, they are in excellent condition.

This Shou Shan stone carving of Zhang Guo (or Kuo) Lao is a mid 19th century product. It depicts a seated Zhang Guo Lao. In his left hand, he is carrying his emblem Yu Gu (or Ku) or fish drum which is a tube-shaped bamboo drum with two iron rods. His right hand is resting on his knee. There is a straw hat hanging on his back. The statue is 4 ½” high, 3 ¼” wide (from the bottom) and 2” thick. The carved wood base is not included. The carving is simple and elegant. This pair of carved ivory emperor and empress are late 19th or early 20th century export pieces. The emperor is 12 ¼” high, 2 ¼” wide and 1 ¾” thick. The empress is 12 1/8” high, 2 ½” wide and 2” thick. The emperor is holding a sword and the empress is holding a Ruyi. The robes are very well carved with dragon and phoenix designs. There is honorable “Great Ming” mark on the bottom of the empress. They are in excellent condition.

This very well carved ivory beauty is an early 20th century product. It depicts a young lady holding a round fan in her left hand and carrying a flower basket on her right shoulder. It is 12 ¾” high (with wood base, it is 16” high), 2 ½” wide from her shoulders and 2” thick. Aside from one small age crack line on the base of the ivory, it is in excellent condition.

This is a rare Meiji period Japanese tree bark cloisonné jar. It is cloisonné design over ceramic body which was made to look like tree bark. It is 7” tall and 5 ½” at its widest part. It has a flower, bird and butterfly design over its brown body. It is in great condition, a little color rubbed off of the rim and base.

This very well carved late Meiji Period (1868~1911) ivory tusk is 14” high (with wood base is 15” high), 4 ½” wide and 4” thick. The carving on one side depicts a castle located in front of a snowy mountain surrounded by rockery and trees. A water fall serves as an entry into a quite village.
