This carved ox horn statue of an old man is a late 19th century product. It depicts a bearded old story teller sitting with one leg kneeling. He holds a pair of clap sticks or clappers in his right hand. His left hand rests on his belt. The statue is 4 7/8” high, 2 Ύ” wide from bottom and 2 Ό” thick from bottom (without base). It is in great condition.

This carved ox horn statue of a fairy is an early 20th century product. It depicts a fairy with one hand holding a flower branch while her other hand is holding a bamboo basket with more flowers inside. It is 10 Ό” high (11 Ό” high with base), 3” wide from the bottom and 2 Ό” in depth. Aside from small chips on the bottom rim, it is in great condition.

This early 20th century Chinese ceramic carved white brush holder is 5 Ό” high and 3 Ύ” in diameter. It depicts a tiger standing on top of mountain surround by far away mountains, pine trees and bamboo. There are peony and small chrysanthemums beneath the tiger and a lucky bat is flying on the top. This late 19th century reverse glass painting is 13” x 19 ½” (20 ½” x 26 Ύ” including frame). It depicts two birds surrounded by a rock garden, peony and plum blossoms. The translation of the calligraphy is: “Seeking refuge to escape the tyranny of the times; seeing those beautiful blossoms, it seems spring has begun the new year.” One of the signature seals on the top reads “Shao Xi;” this is the name of the artist. This 19th century carved wood netsuke of an Otafuku (traditional female theater character) is 2 Ό” long, 1 Ύ” wide and 1” thick. It was made by a well known wood netsuke carver Shuzan; his signature is on the back. Shuzan was the pupil of master netsuke carver Shugetsu. It is in excellent condition.

The early 20th century celluloid netsuke is 2 1/8” in diameter and 5/8” thick. This kind of netsuke is called “Kagamibuta.” It is shaped like a Manju (round doughnut) but with a metal disc serving as a lid to a shallow bowl. The pressed silver alloy disc has a dragon design. It is in excellent condition.

This early 20th century carved coral of lady and two birds mounted as a table lamp is 22” high. The coral lady is 6” high and the embossed brass base is 7” x 7”. There is a small carved agate bird sitting on the top of the lamp. The lady and two birds are standing on a carved hard wood base and branch. It is in great condition.
