This is a very nice Song Dynasty (960 A.D.~1270 A.D.) black Jian ware temmoku tea bowl possibly from the Wuyi mountain kiln in Fujian province. It has nice slightly iridescent glaze with gray body and a preferred glaze style for the ancient whipped Chinese "white" tea. It was excavated before WWII by Marshall Plummer and James Foster. It is 1 Ύ” high and 4” wide. It is in great condition.

This very well carved brush holder is an early 20th century product. On one side, it depicts six children playing with fire crackers during New Year; on the other side there is a big red character “Fu,” good luck. There are mountain and river scenes on the bottom inside and outside. It is almost 5” high, 4” wide and 3 ½” thick. It is in great condition aside from some old cracks.

A very nicely fired small Shino chawan (tea cup) with lovely under glaze iron brown areas burning through the white Shino glaze. It is a very handsome and strong small chawan. It comes with a non-matching box. It is 2 Ύ” high and 3 Ύ” in diameter. It is in excellent condition.

This very well carved gold gilt wood Buddha (Japanese name is Amida Nyorai or Amida Butsu.) is 18 ½” high, 7” wide and 6” thick (including base), the Buddha is 11 Ύ” high, 3 ½” wide and 3” thick. It is a mid or late 18th century piece. His right hand facing outward means wisdom and his left hand facing downward means compassion. The halo on the back is missing. Aside from missing small pieces on the base and gold gilt lacquer lost from the robe, it is in excellent condition.

This late 19th or early 20th C. carved nephrite brush holder is 5” high on one side, 4” high on the opposite side, 4” long and 3” on the widest part. The entire body was carved to resemble the trunk of a pine tree. There is one bird flying and two birds resting on the three branches. Though the nephrite has some natural blemishes, but still is quite an eye catching piece. It is in great condition.

This early 19th century Japanese Imari vase is 10 ½ inches high and 4 ½ inches on the widest part. The top of the vase had been cut and polished. Two peony blossoms were painted over the lower part. Three small circles on the upper were painted pine, plum blossom and bamboo. It has a green “Fuku – Happiness” mark on the bottom. Aside from some faded color due to its age, it is in great condition.

This mid. 19th century Japanese Imari (Aka-e) vase is almost 10 ½” high and 4 Ύ” on widest part. There are two sections; one depicts a painted phoenix, butterfly and maple tree, the other depicts a geisha holding an umbrella standing in front of iris and hanging flowers. The rest of the vase is decorated with floral and textile designs. It is in perfect condition.

This late19th Century Japanese Imari (Aka-e) vase is 7 ½” high and 3 Ύ” at its widest part. It depicts cherry blossoms and orchids in two sections, fruit (peach or persimmon) and some unknown flowers are painted on the rest of body. There are three small butterflies painted on the rim. Aside from a few blisters and smudged color due to firing, it is in excellent condition.

This before World War I ceramic Kutani style nude lady is 12 Ύ” high, 3 Ύ” wide and 4 Ύ” thick. It depicts a long hair nude beauty holding a bright traditional rube and leaned on a dark rock. There is a faded red mark on the bottom. It is in excellent condition.

This pair of carved ivory emperor and empress are early 20th century export pieces. The emperor is 14 Ό” high with base (without base, it is 12 5/8” high), 2 ½” wide and 2” thick. The empress is 13 ½” high with base (without base, it is 12” high), 2 ½” wide and 2” thick. The emperor is holding a sword and the empress is holding a Ruyi. The robes are very well carved with dragon and phoenix design. They are in excellent condition.
