This early 20th century Chinese ceramic carved white brush holder is 5 Ό high and 3 Ύ in diameter. It depicts a tiger standing on top of mountain surround by far away mountains, pine trees and bamboo. There are peony and small chrysanthemums beneath the tiger and a lucky bat is flying on the top. The seal of the maker, Chen Guo Zhi, is carved on the bottom. Chen Guo Zhi (1821~1861) was a well known artist. This early 20th century yellow vase mounted as a table lamp is 20 high, 6 Ό wide and 4 ½ in depth. The vase is 8 Ό high, 5 wide and 3 ½ in depth. On both the front and back, it depicts a 5 clawed dragon floating between the ocean and the clouds. Eight immortal symbols are on both sides. The vase had been drilled and mounted on a cut out and embossed brass base. It is in great condition.
