The ash glazed guinomi (sake cup) was made by Kako Katsumi. Kako (b. 1965) came from a family of commercial potters from Kyoto, but decided at an early age to become an art potter. He is highly thought of by several Japanese ceramic magazines and has won the grand prize at the prestigious Tea Forms Exhibition in Japan. It is 2 high and 3 wide. It comes with a signed box and it is in excellent condition.

This very well made Shizuno-yu tokkuri (sake flask) was made by Kako Katsumi.
Kako (b. 1965) came from a family of commercial potters from Kyoto, but decided at an early age to become an art potter. This is a finely fired yunomi (tea cup) by one of the finest Iga style potters in Japan today. Fujioka Shuhei (b. 1947) was born in Ueno city in Iga prefecture, one of the oldest pottery sites in Japan. Shuhei started his own kiln in 1975. He is featured in the book 125 Contemporary Potters of Japan. The yunomi is 3 ½ high and 3 wide. It comes in a signed box and is in perfect condition.

It is a very finely fired Iga lidded box by one of the finest Iga style potters in Japan today. Fujioka Shuhei (b. 1947) was born in Ueno city in Iga prefecture, one of the oldest pottery sites in Japan. Shuhei started his own kiln in 1975. He is featured in the book "125 Contemporary Potters of Japan. The piece has a nice hi-iro fire color, clay flavor and ash glaze surfaces. It is 4 ½ high and 4 ½ wide. This is a very nicely fired guinomi (sake cup) in a less common shape called Rinka (flower shape). There are many different rich surfaces on this guinomi from the firing. Yuho (b. 1950) is the son of Sozan, an Okayama Prefectural Treasure. He also is the nephew of Kaneshige Toyo, the first Living National Treasure for Bizen pottery. He has received the Japanese Ceramic Society prize for his work. It is 2 high and 2 ½ wide. It comes in a signed box and is in perfect condition.

This is a very fine guinomi (sake cup) by Nakamura Makoto, one of the finest makers of sake vessels in Japan. His father was Nakamura Rokuro, also considered one of the finest makers of sake vessels in his day. Makoto has been influenced by Rosanjin and LNT (Living National Treasure) Kaneshige Toyo. This cup has many nice surface effects from the firing and is superbly formed. It is 2 Ό high and 2 ½ wide. It comes in a signed box and is in perfect condition.
