This nicely fired small Mashiko style tokkuri (sake pourer) with red over glazed enamel designs was made by Hamada Tomoo, the grandson of the great Living National Treasure Hamada Shoji, through his father Hamada Shinseki. Tomoo has become a noted potter in his own right. Tomoo has worked to revitalize the Mashiko tradition with newer, more original works, such as this tokkuri. This fine small guinomi (sake cup) with a very nice crusty firing was made by Osawa Tsuneo (b. 1962). Osawa is well known in Japan and has exhibited in many galleries and department stores. He has also been entered in many prestigious exhibitions and awarded many prizes. It is 2 1/4" high and 2" wide from the widest part. The artist name and seal are on the side of the original wood box. It is in excellent condition.

This very finely fired dark guinomi (sake cup) with a nice color spot on the side was made by one of the best of the younger generation of Bizen potters, Miyao Masahiro. Along with Wakimoto Hiroyuki and Yokoyama Naoki, he is one of the Young Lions of Bizen. It is 2 1/2" high and 2 1/4" in diameter. The artist name and seal are on the top of the original wood box; his name is on the bottom of the sake cup. It is in excellent condition.

This very fine tokkuri (sake bottle, or pourer) with an unusual dark firing and a nice bright ash glaze feature on the side was made by Miyao Masahiro, one of the Young Lions, the younger generation of very talented potters working in Bizen style. It is 6 1/4" high and 3 1/2" wide from the widest part. The artist name and seal are on the top of the original wood box; his name is on the bottom of the sake bottle. It is in excellent condition.

This nicely fired small square guinomi (sake cup) was made by Yokoyama Naoki (1970- ) who is one of the best of the younger generation of Bizen potters. His works are very popular in Japan and well exhibited. It is 2 1/4" high and 2 1/4" wide. The artist name and seal are on the side of the original wood box; his mark is on the bottom of the sake cup. It is in excellent condition.

This beautifully fired celadon tokkuri (sake bottle) was made by Minegishi Seiko (b. 1952). Minegishi is one of the finest artists currently working in the style in Japan. His trademark fluted skirt appears around the base of the sake bottle. Another characteristic feature of his work is the lovely cracked ice pattern in the surface of the glaze which sets it apart from the work of others working in the celadon style.
