This pair of Japanese early 20th century Kutani vases is 12 inches high and 3 inches on the widest part. Gold, orange red and black colors were used to paint the two sections of autumn scenes. One is of children playing in a garden; the other depicts geese, peonies and unknown plants. There are kutani marks on both bottoms. One vase has quite a few hair line cracks and the other is in good condition.

This late Meiji (1868~1911) 3 piece calligraphy lacquer box is 7 ¾ inches long, 6 ¾ inches wide and 1 ¾ inches high. The outside of the cover depicts an open winged eagle resting on a stand; autumn flowers and plants before a full moon appear inside. There are two movable pieces decorated with gold maple leaves in the box. This very well painted early 20th century Chinese porcelain vase is 9” high and 4” on the widest part. It depicts a lady sitting on a garden rock in front of a cherry blossom reading book; a young maid is standing next to her watching. A poem is written on the other side of the vase and signed by the artist Hong Jin-Hao. The vase has two gold handles of the shape of bats and maker’s mark on the bottom.
