| This ivory carving of a fairy riding a mythical beast is a mid 20th century product. It is 5 ½ high (6 ½ high with carved fitted wood base), 4 wide and 1 ½ thick. It depicts the fairy, He Xiangu, holding a lotus leaf and blossoms in one hand and a fly whisk in the other hand. She is sitting side ways on her mythical beast. He Xiangu is the only female deity of the Chinese eight immortals. Legend has it that her whisk and lotus blossoms will improve ones mental and physical health. It is in excellent condition. | ||
