This small carved jade (jadeite) snuff bottle is 2 ¼ inches tall, 1 ½ inches wide and a little more than half inch thick. One side depicts a dragon leaping out of the ocean trying to catch a fire globe. The pattern on the other side evokes the eight trigrams from the Book of Changes. The symbol of Ying and Yang is in the middle. It was carved around 1980. The workmanship is excellent and it is well hollowed. It has an agate cap which is quite possibly a replacement. It is in great condition.
