Rare find in this glazed terra-cotta piece created during the early years of the factory of Rasmus Peter Ipsen (1815-1860), with the mark of 1850-1870. C Skrękkelig Hus Bas - Lettelse Plaque af Peter Ipsen. Ipsen was a master thrower and opened his factory in Copenhagen, Denmark, in 1843. Documented, made in 1900 (see photo), this beautiful, delicate Bohemian Vase was made by Josephinenhutte, in Schrieberhau, Riesengebirge, in Central Europe. Seltener Böhmischer Josephinenhutte Emaillierter Kunst-Glas-Vase. The glass house, itself, was established in 1842 by Count Leopold Schaffgotsch, and later, in the early 20th century, merged with the firm of Fritz Heckert (see our Heckert goblet Item no. 3496).
