Small, heavy, light patina bronze lion in warning position, unsigned, measures 5.50" (13.97 cm) long, 1.25" (3.17 cm) wide, 2.875" (7.30 cm) tall. Appears to be sand-cast which could indicate it is quite old, although we are most comfortable with the claim of "antique," knowing that this piece came from a collector of 17th-19th Century lions. Exquisite small bronze-finish, crouching Lion, which display evidence of having once been gilded, and was probably an ormolu item on a large garniture set. He is of white metal with a bronze finish, and the gilding would have covered him completely. He is beautifully and intricately formed, measures 5" (12.70 cm) long, about 2.50" (6.35 cm) wide, and about 2" (5.08 cm) tall.
