| Regal Murano Art Glass Vase, by Ercole Barovier, resplendent with profuse included gold throughout. This piece has many intricate features combined into one piece; Zebrati -- the amethyst parallel, swagged canes through the bulbous torso; Cordonato Oro -- the thick, ribbed, clear canes, filled to capacity with brilliant real gold, not exactly Cordonato oro but very close; Bullicante -- evently spaced, controlled bubbles which graduate in size from very tiny at the base, to larger ovals within the ribs, and moving up through the neck and to the rim, in greatly thinned, elongated air bubbles. Amethyst also dots the vase from the neck, up. The flared rim is shaped into scallops echoing the drape of the zebrati in the body; the clear foot is an attached dome thickly included with more gold, and has a large polished pontil, with a small rough "navel" remaining. One could not ask for a more elegant, lavish piece from the Baroviers. 6.75" (17.14 cm) tall, 5.25" - 5.50" (13.33 - 13.97 cm) diameter, 3.25" (8.89 cm) foot diameter. Superb condition. c. 1948-1955. $20 US Shipping. [we apologize for those photos which contain reflections from the fabric] | ||||||||||||
