Opalescent Art Glass Salt Bowl Stumpf Pantin Monot
Pink-to-apricot iridescence, even a little blue and yellow depending on the light. This striped, ruffled edge salt or spice bowl is immediately identifiable, even though unsigned, as having been created late 19th Century by Stumpf, Touvier, Viollet & Cie of France; known at various times by several different names including Crystallerie de Pantin, Monot & Cie, Legras & Cie, and others. The company was most devoted to this type of glass from about 1870. Our example measures 3.375" (8.57 cm) diameter, 1.50" (3.81 cm) in height; concave polished pontil. Excellent condition, with age-confirming wear to the base. c. 1880-1900. $8 US Shipping.
