20th Century Artist, Gerard Passet (1936- )France, signed on verso, and front lower right. "Pecheur frais du Village" (similar to "the fishing village" or perhaps "the village fisherman"), a colorful impressionist style oil painting measuring 21" x 18" (53.34 x 45.72 cm), and beautifully framed to 28" x 25" x 2.5" (71.12 x 63.5 x 6.35 cm) frame thickness. [Enter "passet" in the Barclay Galleries search box for more paintings by this artist] About the Artist: Born in 1936 in Villeneuve-le-Roi, France, Passet was the pupil of Marcel Roch, of Goerg and was the chief of the studio of Yves Brayer at the Grande Chaumiere Academy. He is represented in various museums including The Modern Art Museum of Paris, The Museum Cantini (Marseilles), The Museum of I’lle de France (Sceaux). The French Government and the City of Paris have also purchased many paintings by Gerard Passet. His works are sold in several U.S. galleries, as well. |
