A large medal commemorating the National Eucharistic Congress that was held in New Orleans Oct. 17-20, 1938. Thousands of Catholics from all over the United States attended the Congress, and on Oct. 18, Pope Pius XI broadcast an address from Rome to the group assembled for an open-air Mass in the City Park Stadium. These medals were originally attached to a pin with ribbon
